Poxon has performed across the United States and Canada, with performance highlights including the Sacramento Music Festival, Festival d'été de Québec, and the Kennedy Center.

In addition to blues, Andy is also a rising classical guitarist, having won first prize in the James Stroud All-Ohio Guitar Competition in 2017 and the Appalachian Guitarfest Solo Guitar Competition Undergraduate Division in 2015. He was the first guitarist in school history to win Towson University’s Peggy Friedman-Gordon Music Competition in 2014. In 2013, he was selected to premier Der Duft des Winters, by John Belkot, a new piece for solo guitar commissioned by the Baltimore Classical Guitar Society.

Poxon graduated summa cum laude from Towson University in 2015, with a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance, under the tutelage of Professor Troy King, and is currently pursuing his Master of Music degree in guitar performance at the Cleveland Institute of Music under Jason Vieaux and Colin Davin. He enjoys teaching students of all ages in various styles including rock, pop, classical, and jazz.
